Bowen Therapy with Joan Campbell

I have been introduced to many therapies over the years, worked with Naturopaths, Physiotherapists, Massage practitioners, but never found anything as effective, simple and gentle that works on all levels of the human body systems. Physically, energetically, emotionally and mentally.

The Bowen technique is a holistic approach to pain relief and healing that is based on the recognition that the underlying cause or source of many musculoskeletal, neurological, neuromuscular and other health or pain problems can be found in the form of an imbalance of the energetic and facial systems of the body.

The Bowen Therapy technique is a very gentle and non-invasive, but extremely powerful, soft connective tissue hands-on therapy that addresses all the bodies systems restoring the natural balance within the body.

What is Bowen Therapy?

Break the cycle of muscle pain

Bowen balances your nervous system relaxing your entire body through a sequence of small positive gentle moves made at specific points on your body that are non-invasive. Bowen is used for relief of pain and effective treatment for a wide range of problems. Try a more gentle approach with fantastic results.

What to expect from a treatment

Bowen Therapy is a remedial therapy which can be administered through light clothing, with the client sitting, standing or lying. Bowen is generally pleasant to receive, each session lasting 30 – 60 minutes, depending on the age of the client and the nature of their symptoms.

More about the treatment

What is Bowen Therapy?

The Bowen Technique is a cross fibre muscle release technique that balances and stimulates energy flows, resulting in a deep sense of overall relaxation. The body is sent a message that the emergency is over, and it is now possible to initiate healing. To put it simply, a Bowen treatment resets the body allowing it to heal itself.

Bowen Therapy for Animals

EQUINES, CANINES AND FELINES love a Bowen treatment. Bowen Therapy benefits all animals and works both Energetically and Structurally. Animal behaviour can be greatly affected by pain and discomfort, making them argumentative, agitated or just tense, unable or unwilling to move.

Joan is well recognised and respected by local vets and is also well versed in many areas of pet care including nutrition.

Bowen Therapy for Horses

In addition to courses in Bowen Therapy for Animals, Joan has worked with horses for over 20 years; as a horse owner, Natural Horsemanship, Official Dressage Judge EFA and holds a Certificate 4 – Horse Husbandry & Management from Melbourne University. Horses often appear deeply relaxed and at ease during and after a session.

Bowen is a Complementary Therapy

This technique is considered a ‘Complementary Therapy’ and not an alternative to many other medical treatments, such as Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, prescription drugs, medical interventions, chemotherapy and surgical procedures. Not a replacement for treatment prescribed by your medical physician. In other words there is no medical intervention which would be compromised.
